“At the most basic level, we must let go of who we are in order to become who we are supposed to be.”
–Awakening At Midlife, by Kathleen A. Brehony
You have slowly become disillusioned, over time, with your job and career. You are adjusting to the life of an empty nester. The adult children have come back home to live. There is a way that you feel stuck between caring for your children, and now are becoming caretakers for your elderly parents. Adjusting to being divorced is challenging. You are contemplating getting divorced. Life, as a widower, is lonely. Currently, your friendships are not fulfilling. The relationship with a significant other is slowly becoming dissatisfying. Your anger has gotten the best of you. You have thought about looking outside of the marriage or relationship to experience being loved. The truth is you feel totally lost and crushed.
When you really think about it, do you know a great deal about what it is like to be in midlife? The truth is that this adult stage of development is frequently overlooked. When you grow up and become an adult, there are parts of you that have become disconnected. Once upon a time, you may have been very creative and let go of all that talent. Your family of origin could have steered you in the direction of a career that was suitable for their needs. I would like to help you reclaim those parts of yourself that have drifted away.
I help women in midlife & beyond learn how to reclaim their power by coloring outside of the lines. Often times, you grow up learning to stay safe and secure, as that was necessary to survive in your childhood. As an adult, you have chosen to continue staying safe, and the possibility of taking risks was out of the question. I ask you to imagine what it would be like, if only for a moment, to get out of your comfort zone, and grow. Coloring inside of the lines and adhering to all the rules, in your life, is no longer serving you well.
You do not have to stay stuck any longer. It is possible to have a happy and fulfilling life at this midlife stage. I will help you transform into the very special and unique person that has always been waiting to come alive!
